Notocactus (Parodia) Erubescens

Notocactus (synonymous with Parodia) Erubescens is a species of cactus native to South America, and in a wide range of habitats and climates.
 
The plants are easy to care for, forgiving, hardy, stay small, and made to bloom easily.
 
It is also often seen in the form schlosseri, which is more specifically native to Uruguay. It boasts impressive yellow flowers and red spines, making a popular and well-loved plant!
 
While not accepted by all growers, current scientific nomenclature states that all Notocactus should be treated as Parodia. Though it appears most in the hobby will use both names interchangeably.
